National Alpaca Farm Days
~ September 27 & 28 ~
We’re getting read for visitors!
We’ve been busily preparing for your visit!
Please join us to celebrate National Alpaca Farm Days on September 27 & 28, when we join with 2 more neighboring farms, Alpaca Shire & Alpacas of Sonoma. All the fun happens at:
Brookfarm ~ Alpacas in the Valley of the Moon!
DETAILS: 9am to 5pm both days. Light refreshments will be served. Meet the alpaca and learn all about this inquisitive beautiful animal from South America and about Maremmas, the Italian livestock guardian dog. There will be fiber demonstrations randomly throughout the day (spinning, knitting, felting, fiber processing). And alpaca products to purchase (homegrown yarn, fleeces & batts for the spinner, hand knit scarves, hats & felted bags, socks) and much more!
Here’s what we’ve been up to in anticipation of National Alpaca Farm Days ~
The boys supervised as Mark put the final trim on the herdsire shelter.
Nicco and Tessa supervised the final trim going up on the alpaca shelter.
And the girls think it’s all looking mighty nice!
Debbie has busily finished a couple more knitted/felted bags to sell & our very first yarns arrived back from the mill (see photos and details of these products on previous post).
Fiber was shipped out to be processed into alpaca rugs to sell & we expect to arrive very soon.
Ball caps are in! (See photo in previous post.
Debbie and Vicki had the opportunity to hone their hosting skills at Cal Expo, the California State Fair. And Harvey became a celebrity as a Plein Air Artist chose him as her subject that day.
AND We all stood back to take a few minutes to look around and enjoy it all.
Ahhhhhh . . . night time
~ a time to relax and plan for yet another exciting day at Brookfarm! And, yes, this was a beautiful night sky recently here in Glen Ellen.
