Fall is such a beautiful time of year. Even though the days are getting shorter, the beautiful colors in the vineyards and garden all but make up for it.
And speaking of vineyards, Mark was able to get out
between the raindrops and do some picking. Look at
these colors!
Since we had a bit of a heat wave after those last two spells of rain, which each brought us an inch of rain, it’s time to work on the drainage around the back of the barn.

Some recent milestones include Tessa reaching one year
of age. She is an integral part of our farm operation,
and believe it or not, her late night barking allows us
to sleep at night! .... especially with recent threat of
predators nearby ~ Mountain Lions!!!
Our first girl cria, Dasie Mae, is all girl. As you can see here, no one dotes on her. Then there is our handsome rose grey Harvey. Here he is giving mom, Carmen, some lovin’.

The Cahill Boys Visit
L-R: Grumps Mike, Unca Chris, Mason, and
“My-Dad’s-a-Carpenter-and-he-can-figure-out-how-to-turn-this-tractor-on” Sam

All we did was glance away for a moment and there he was, Mr. Sam Hagerman had the controls of JD. That be John Deere in Brookfarm speak. Note: the lights are blinking and every knob he could find was pushed, pulled, twisted, and explored. There’s no fun going on here!
I think Sam is our new ranch hand!

Not only does Sam know how to work the tractor, he was not at all shy about feeding the alpacas, the goats, and the Koi. Luckily I had a hold of the back of his shirt so he didn’t go for a swim.

Then there is important knitting, and what better place than out on a sunny weekend day with woman’s best friend, Lance, and a glass of red wine. The beer belongs to the photographer!

And everyone has to eat!
Until next time......
